Scarlett's Personality:

Scarlett is looking for an experienced guardian. She may get along just fine with a dominant cat and a dog that will not allow her to push him/her around. Small children make Scarlett uncomfortable, therefore any home wishing to adopt Scarlett must me 16+. Scarlett is a very sweet dog once she gets to know you she adores belly rubs and being pet. She is very attentive and listens well with positive reinforcement. She loves going in the yard and is in play groups with dogs her size or smaller and does very well! Scarlett is shy and will need time to build a relationship with you. Please come visit Scarlett and see if she is the right dog for you! 

 

 

Requirements:

The adopter must understand Scarlett fear of strangers and understand how to work with this behavior. A minimum of 5 visits to the shelter is required where you will spend time with her, the staff who works the closest with her, and the Director of Enrichment and Behavior and/or our Behaviorist. This requirement is important to ensure that Scarlett has the safest and most successful adoption possible. With many dogs who exhibit a fear of people, it is crucial to understand the correct way of introducing people she doesn’t know and/or managing the environment to avoid any unwanted introductions. Scarlett will need continued behavior modification which could ultimately help her overcome her fear of strangers.
