Maverick's Personality:

Hi my name is Maverick! I'm a very handsome boy here at ACS! I am very photogenic as you can see and super smart! I love playing with my other canine friends and absolutely love romping in the pond. Ball is another of my favorites! I'm a very sweet and affectionate boy who would love a chance to have a home of my own where I can show you my tricks and be by your side. I love to please and would make a great addition to an active family without small children.

 

 

Requirements:

The adopter must understand Mavericks fear of strangers and guarding issues and understand how to work with this behavior. A minimum of 6 visits to the shelter is required where you will spend time with him, the staff who works the closest with him, and the Director of Enrichment and Behavior and/or our Behaviorist. This requirement is important to ensure that Maverick has the safest and most successful adoption possible. With many dogs who exhibit a fear of people, it is crucial to understand the correct way of introducing people he doesn’t know and/or managing the environment to avoid any unwanted introductions. Maverick will need continued behavior modification which could ultimately help him overcome his fear of strangers and manage and work with his guarding.
