Nema's Personality:

I'm Nema and I'm a special resident here. I am trying to find a family that will give me patience and lots of time to warm up to them. I am very shy but once I break out of my shell you will get a kick out of me. I am a goofy girl that leaps and bounds in the yard like a deer after my playmate Kado . I absolutely love swimming in the pond and kiddie pool in the yard! My ideal home would be with adults and possibly another dog but I am selective. I do not seem to mind cats either!  I am very active and would love a fenced in yard to play with you in. If you think you could be my perfect match please come up and meet me!

 

Requirements:

The adopter must understand Nemas fear of strangers and understand how to work with this behavior. A minimum of 7 visits to the shelter is required where you will spend time with her, the staff who works the closest with her, and the Director of Enrichment and Behavior and/or our Behaviorist. This requirement is important to ensure that Nema has the safest and most successful adoption possible. With many dogs who exhibit a fear of people, it is crucial to understand the correct way of introducing people she doesn’t know and/or managing the environment to avoid any unwanted introductions. Nema will need continued behavior modification which could ultimately help her overcome her fear of strangers.
