Reggie's Story:
I'm Reggie and I have special needs because I'm going blind. I have cataracts and see very poorly. I am on eye drops twice a day and other pills for my eye and joint health. Because of my poor eye sight I should not be placed in a home with other pets or kids because they might startle me. I'm a very happy go lucky boy in spite of my condition. I enjoy my daily walks and am a good walker even though I'm a big strong boy. I would love to have a home of my own.

Requirements:
The adopter must understand Reggies resource guarding and handling issues and understand how to work with this behavior. A minimum of 6 visits to the shelter is required where you will spend time with him, the staff who works the closest with him, and the Director of Enrichment and Behavior and/or our Behaviorist. This requirement is important to ensure that Reggie has the safest and most successful adoption possible. It is crucial to understand the correct way of handling this behavior to avoid any situations where a bite may happen. Reggie will need continued behavior modification which could ultimately help him learn to feel comfortable with handling.

If you are interested in Reggie, meet the requirements, and are willing to take the time to get to know him please contact Animal Care Sanctuary at 570-596-2200.

Disclaimer: Dog classified under this section are animals with single and/or multiple bite histories, who we feel can be rehomed under the strict guidelines and requirements that the interested adopter must follow. These guidelines are in place to provide the best home possible for the dogs.
