Pollo's Personality:

I'm Pollo! and the first thing your should know about me is I'm a big personality in a small package. I have come a long way while I've been here at ACS. But now I am a very sweet boy who loves my daily walks, like being held, and given treats of course! I am in a play group with three other little dogs and do well. So therefore I could potentially do well with the right dog about my size in a home. Because I don't like my front feet touched it would be best if I am not placed in a home with small children. I'm a calm laid back that would love to be a little partner to someone.

 

Requirements:

The adopter must understand Pollo resource guarding,  handling issues, and stranger issues and understand how to work with this behavior. A minimum of 6 visits to the shelter is required where you will spend time with him, the staff who works the closest with him, and the Director of Enrichment and Behavior and/or our Behaviorist. This requirement is important to ensure that Pollo has the safest and most successful adoption possible. It is crucial to understand the correct way of handling this behavior to avoid any situations where a bite may occur. Pollo will need continued behavior modification which could ultimately help him learn to feel comfortable with allowing people pet him and/ or brush him.
