Kimba's Personality: 

Kimba is a really funny girl. She loves to paly ball and keep away. She likes to play in the kiddie pools in the summer. She is dog selective and would chase cats. She will need a multiple visits to learn to trust and listen to you. She is very smart and would love to have a job to do. She likes to be outside a lot so it would be nice for her to have a fenced in backyard.

Requirements:

The adopter must understand Kimba's stranger issues and understand how to work with this behavior. A minimum of 5-10 visits to the shelter is required where you will spend time with her, the staff who works the closest with her, and the Director of Enrichment and Behavior and/or our Behaviorist. This requirement is important to ensure that Kimba has the safest and most successful adoption possible. With many dogs who exhibit a fear of new people and guarding, it is crucial to understand the correct way of introducing people she doesn’t know and/or managing the environment to avoid any unwanted introductions and guarding opportunities. Kimba will need continued behavior modification which could ultimately help her overcome her fear of strangers and guarding issues.
